Instant Dosas / Ghavan They are a quick, light and delicious breakfast option. Dhirde (also called Ghavan) is what dosas are called in Maharashtra. Ghavan is a traditional breakfast recipe from Konkan region of Maharashtra. You can have Instant Dosas / Ghavan using 9 ingredients and 6 steps. Here is how you achieve it.

Ingredients of Instant Dosas / Ghavan

  1. You need 2 cups of Rice Flour / Chawal ka Atta.
  2. Prepare 1 cup of Semolina / Rava / Suji.
  3. It's 1 cup of Curd / Dahi.
  4. It's 1/4 teaspoon of Asafoetida Powder / Hing.
  5. You need to taste of Salt.
  6. You need 1-2 of finely chopped Green Chillies (optional).
  7. Prepare 1 of finely chopped Onion (optional).
  8. It's as required of Water.
  9. Prepare 3-4 tablespoons of Oil.

Traditionally, these are made out of brown rice flour, a pinch of salt, jeera and water to form this batter and immediately these are cooked out like dosas. But I have made it with regular rice flour as I didn't find brown rice flour. This 'Ghavan' is the popular breakfast in our "Kokan". Ghavan is a soft, netted rice pancake.

Instant Dosas / Ghavan instructions

  1. Add the Rice Flour and the Semolina into a blender, add the salt, asafoetida, curd and water as required. Blitz until you get a smooth, flowy batter..
  2. Add the batter into a large bowl, you can add more water to get the desired consistency of water. Cover and set aside to rest for 10 minutes..
  3. Add the chopped green chillies and the onions, mix well..
  4. Heat a nonstick tava, grease with 1 teaspoon oil. Pour a ladleful of batter, spread into a circle..
  5. Cover and cook on low-medium heat until golden brown and crisp from both sides..
  6. Serve hot with Chutney and Curd..
